Introduction

The paper intend to explain about the most rising global issue of elderly or ageing of population specifically the population of United States. The paper also aims to look at the different social issues which are the by-product of ageing population such as the retirement challenges of senior population, availability of health care for ageing population, availability of social security, and other concerns. Moreover, the paper also intends to explore the approaches of United States to solve the challenges faced by the elderly people. Also, the impact of growing population over the younger generations has been analyzed under the study.

The largest number of population throughout the world is getting older and sooner or later the consequences of the old ageing will emerge. This is because, the older people are having the longer lives and the birth rates as well as death rates have been declining since the nineteenth century. This longevity in the lives of older people has been contributing in the rapid increase in the problems and challenges associated with the older ages. These problems are now becoming the permanent features of the societies. It has also been expected that the continued birth rate will also reproduce the future population with the longer lives and decline in the mortality rates. Hence, this concern has opened up the chances to increase the numbers of problems that are linked with the population ageing and it is also expected that in the future, the new problems are also likely to emerge (Grundy, 2007).

Aims and Objectives of the Study

The primary aim of this study is to explore the global rising issue of ageing of population which is causing to create a number of challenges for the old age people.

The other objective of this research is to specify the challenges in detail to provide the comprehensive analysis over the study.

The paper also intends to indicate the solutions to solve the challenges and problems faced by the old age population.

Importance of the Study

The paper holds the great significance as it attempts to highlight the most growing and the most senior segment of the population which is facing the numbers of life challenges and problems due to their old age. This is the most underprivileged segment of population which is not given the proper attention and hence they face several problems in dealing with their daily life concerns. Therefore, it is crucial for the government to pay proper attention towards the older population to avoid the extreme adverse consequences which are expected to emerge in the future if they are not considered as the other population (Beard et al., 2012). In the essence, this study has been provided to look at the different issues of the older people and the proposed solutions to solve their problems and help them enjoy better lifestyles.
