Introduction

Violence against elderly people (physical, mental, financial, abandonment, and neglect) is a growing problem in American society. Nurse is a person who by virtue of their functions should be able to recognize the first signs of violence and take effective intervention. . Elderly abuse (including all forms like: physical, psychological, financial, abandonment and neglect), has been grown as a social problem in Polish society.  Elder abuse refers to maltreatment of an older person who puts endanger their health or safety.
