Drug Trafficking is the illegal trade of psychotropic substances regulated by the various Conventions of the UN (1961, 1971and 1988 ). Historically, drug trafficking did not appear after the introduction of international legislation in the early twentieth century through international conventions ( International Opium Convention of 1912, the League of Nationsand the UN), however the market for psychotropic drugs has long been regarded as important as market witnessed for the Opium Wars. El Chapo Guzman has been severly involved in Drug Trafficking and is one of the most wanted personal on Earth. He is involved in various transactions causing risks and danger to various lives.

Guzman Loera, better known as "Chapo" is the leader of an international drug called the "Alliance of Blood ', also known as the Sinaloa Cartel . After the arrest of Osiel Cardenas of the Gulf Cartel , Joaquin Guzman became the major drug trafficker in Mexico. Since the arrest of his rival Osiel Cardenas , the Gulf Cartel in 2003, he became a major sponsor of Mexico. Juan Jose Esparragoza Moreno , head of the Juarez cartel , allegedly negotiated an alliance in 2005 between Guzman and Ismael Zambada Garcia, allowing both to work within the Sinaloa cartel.

He has been arrested many types, but had run away to avoid law and enforcing agencies. In January 2005, 16 thugs were arrested and imprisoned. Caught in possession of numerous weapons, they were accused of working for Guzman in Tamaulipas, territory of the Gulf cartel and its armed wing, Los Zetas. A month later, Nahum Acosta Lugo, a member of the National Action Party (PAN) and director of travel of President Vicente Fox, was arrested and detained for six days before being released for lack of evidence.
