Electronic media, particularly televisions, have been criticized for long for their prospective impact on children. When television first appeared in the United States in the middle of the twentieth century, observers expressed their concerns over its effects on viewers, especially children. This paper examines the adverse effects that media can inflict upon children.
Thesis Statement
Unrestricted exposure to media can have undesirable effects on children including violent or aggressive behavior, behavioral problems, use of illegal substances (drugs), poor reading skills and fewer hobbies and activities.
