Introduction

There is a common belief among the people of this world that every process takes place, because of some important factors and causes, and underlies some unavoidable effects. Such a concept is applicable on numerous events or processes that are either related to the phenomenon of this world or the activities of the humans themselves. Similar is the case with the phenomenon of obesity, which is becoming a really big issue over time.

The literal meaning of the term obesity denote the accumulation of extra, unneeded and undesirable fats on the human body. This extra and unneeded fatness directly affects the physique of a person, and shows extra flesh and mass on the body.

Over time the phenomenon of obesity has taken the entire world by storm. Interestingly, it is the developed countries, which are believed to be the prime victims of this ever increasing curse. The advancements, which are found in the developed countries, have also proven out to be amongst the prime reasons and causes of obesity.

This junk food contains extra fats and oil, which makes it rather hard to digest and easy to accumulate extra fat in the body (Shepherd, 2009).

Indoor Activities Avoidance of Outdoor Activities

As discussed earlier, the modern world has provided the mankind with numerous facilities that play an important role in causing the obesity, such as video games, TV, internet and much more. People find video games, movies and internet more attractive and amusing, which is why they prefer to spend most of their time playing video games, watching TV and using internet. While doing that throughout the day they are sitting in one place, and consuming food and beverages. Moreover, the times that were earlier spent outside playing and walking, in the evening are now spent having video game tournaments and using internet. Therefore, this lack of physical activity and over indulgence in indoor activity is also amongst primary causes of obesity (Ray, 2010).
