Introduction

Effective listening is a habit to acquire the basis for effective communication. It is the act of focusing on what you are listening in groups or in dialogue, in order to understand what is said. As a listener, you should be able to repeat in your own words what you were told in a manner that is satisfactory to the caller. This does not mean that you agree with what you are told, but you understand what is said.
