Alcohol use among adolescent is a major public health concern that is a leading cause contributing to the mortality and morbidity ratio of adolescent. Currently the world health organization identifies the use of alcohol among the young generation as a major contributor to the burden of global diseases. There are many adolescent who use alcohol relates to numerous negative short term consequences such as psychiatric illnesses, cognitive impairment comprising of alcohol addiction, suicide, and depression are linked to early alcohol use among adolescent. On the alcohol specific parenting the empirical literature has grown extensively over last few decades with rules of alcohol specific that emerges from being effective in reducing and preventing the alcohol use among adolescent. A literature review was conducted of ingenious experimental studies that inspected the efficiency of intervention programs for the deterrence of alcohol use in adolescent (Tripodi, Bender, Litschge, & Vaughn, 2010, pp. 85). Educating students and understanding what influences their behaviour is a first step in promoting a healthy and safe environment. This study examined some of the influences to student behaviour regarding alcohol consumption. The next step is to be able to educate students and create awareness of those influences while continually researching other factors that make an impact to this growing epidemic. For interactive personalized opportunities for education of adolescent the settings of goals appears to be a key intervention success. Successful interventions and preventions for adolescent alcohol use may thus have a major health impact on public. This review therefore provides the current literature on alcohol intervention and prevention strategies among adolescent. Resources for clinicians and recommendations for preventing the misuse of alcohol are also provided.
