Introduction

Most of the project managers that are performing the project management will inform that the communication is the most significant characteristic of their task and duty. However, this is a fact, but there are various other elements of the project management that have been overlooked. Accountability is considered as the commitment of an institution, firm, or an individual for explanation for its actions; accept the liability for them, and for disclosing the outcomes in an apparent way. In the project management, accountability is the most critical factor. Without the role of accountability, the projects cannot be effectually and efficiently managed and controlled.

In addition, the performance of the project cannot be improved and enhanced without the accountability. This is a fact and is widely accepted. On the other hand, it can be observed that the fingers are pointed, blaming, and thrashing is done in various other practices for avoiding the accountability.

Accountability is a necessary part for the project management and is required to improve the project's improvement. However, in many firms it is not practiced but is blamed. The main element of the dilemma is the propensity for equating the accountability with guilt and blame.

When owing up to a late delivery or defect or shortfall then who needs to be accountable that results in worse condition? Therefore, it is advised that the blaming should be banished and put emphasis on an approach. This approach is constructed on the notion that it is only by evidently recognizing things as they are what that we can make them good, or at least make the optimum of the present condition.

Accountability

It is vital that a project manager must be capable of accounting for the attempts and hard work of his team. A customer might need to identify that how money spent out, or what is is the duration left on their contract. The capability for rapidly accessing this data is significant for preserving and upholding the optimum relationships with clients and developing their belief and reliance in the methods and tactics.

The manager that responds with “on this I will get back to you” can leave the customer doubting that if he is not making a prediction report that is good.
