Statement of Problem

The Educational Student Support Services (SSS) is provided to the foster youth. There are many foster youths who are deprived of education due to the level of education. They do not have the proper incentives and there are a few foster parents who do not care about the education of their children. The Student Support Services works for making people aware about the importance of education in their lives. The need of education should be stressed in foster youth.

Foster youth lag behind in the field of education. This happens because the need of education is not stressed and the parents are also not much concerned about the education. The Student Support Services perform their duty in stressing the need for education and in emphasizing the fact that education is very much needed in today's world (Williams, 2011). Foster youth all around the world are not facing the same problem; however, the percentage of such youth is very low as compared to the others. There are different factors that impact the education of foster youth; these will be studied in this research.

Theory

Although, there is a small percentage of foster youth who are attending school and learning, the grades that they attend are common and they do not continue the process of learning and attending school. This is the reason that they attend only certain grades. The grades that they attend are the elementary ones in which they are taught the basic and primary lessons. They get the basic education and do not continue it (Jones, 2008). A number of reasons exist due to which they do not continue their education, but no reason should be good enough to quit education and stop the process of learning. The parents should be held responsible for letting different factors in hindering the education of their children.

There are a number of factors that contribute to the educational achievement of the foster youth. These factors vary a lot. These factor maybe the support of their family and friends, or may also involve the factors in the school, such as the environment, teachers, peers etc. Each and everything counts in this and care should be taken that proper education is provided to the foster youth. They should be motivated enough to continue their studies and ensure that they proper education that will help them in their future and in building a successful career (Blome, 1997).

Methodology

The methodology that will be used for researching the above two research questions will be secondary qualitative research. This means that the data that will be used will be extracted from the previous researches on the same topic. Previous researches will be the base of this research and will provide information that will answer the research questions and will pose new questions and open new areas of research.
