New Directions for Education in Delaware is a very broad joint project of key stakeholders all through the state--the Governor, the General Assembly, localized planks and superintendents, the teacher's amalgamation, the Delaware Association of School Administrators, the state parent/teacher association, and all the public organisations of higher education. These stakeholders have established four informative main concerns to direct state and localized efforts: measures and curriculum, evaluations and direction, capability construction and localized implementation, and partnerships.

 Standards and evaluations are at the heart of New (Izumi 1999:10)Directions. Curriculum structure charges created of 45 constituents have established content and presentation measures in English/language creative pursuits, numbers, research, and communal studies. The content measures were evolved for four standard points--K-3, 4-5, 6-8, and 9-10. Each charge was granted timelines inside which to border content and scholar presentation measures over a three-year period. While each of the charges worked distinctly, they all analyzed worldwide, nationwide, and state measures in their respective disciplines. Thousands of preliminary exact replicates of the measures have been distributed for commentary by educators, parents, and citizens.
