Introduction

Since the beginning of human civilisation, learning has been an integral part of our lives. Individuals learn through experiences, and develop their personalities. In this regard, the educationists have elaborated the wide purpose of education. The purpose of education is a two- fold function. The first function relates to the individual himself, while the second function determines his connection to the society. It develops the ability of a person to manage his future life. There is no doubt that education enables a person to think &resolve. It is equally important to understand that moral building accounts for intellectual development of a person. Education develops capabilities of a person like effective thinking, and ability to differentiate between truth & falsehood. Besides a bulk of knowledge, learning enhances free thinking instincts of individuals. Thus, one can comprehend that the basic function of education is developing the skills for “reasoning” with “moral”. For effective learning, learners must encompass a variety of skills. These skills guide a person towards efficient learning opportunities. Each stage of learning requires a different approach from individuals. At a postgraduate level, a student is expected to demonstrate an entirely different set of skills. It is essential that a learner learns to study at this level.

In this write up, I intend to explore the study skills required at post graduate level. For that matter, a research strategy has been developed. The write up is divided into four sections. The first part explains the research guidelines. The second part elaborates the research plan for this assignment with a timeline. The third part is an essay which narrates a discussion over the topic of research. The essay discusses the study skills in the light of previous researches, and evidence-based practices. Towards the end, the write up presents a critical analysis of the project plan, and research strategy.

Task 1: Research Strategy

For this assignment, I have decided to depend on World Wide Web as the major source of research. The internet is the major source of information, which brings knowledge on your finger tips. A lot of authentic libraries are available online. These libraries consist of data from 20th century till today. The data sources are different like scholarly journals, subject articles, research work, and books. Eric is the largest database consisting of Education resources. Ebscohost is another large database offering literature on many subjects. Searching may be an everyday thing, but when it comes to “research” a proper framework must be developed. The necessity of framework arises when the element of “authenticity” is under consideration. The research methodology follows the guidelines of the famous “Push & Pull” method. It is essential to define research objectives before demonstrating the strategy.
