After the conduction of official orientation of the serial placement at Park View, I was enlightened by three whole elements that are mandatory when it comes to operating in an effective and efficient manner. The three elements are developing teacher leadership, development of professional relations and development of a vision of teaching. It is these three elements which can further be broken down into many subsets which in turn will aid me in effectively and efficiently becoming a competent mentor (www.pearsonassessments.com). I ensured the fact that I keep them in mind when it comes to initiating my career as a teacher. Today, since 3 months have passed by, this is the way I have learnt to tackle the three elements I learnt initially.
Based on the current teaching, experience and theoretical schools of thought I believe that all classrooms should be developed by a vision. Based on my experience I believe that there are two factors that tend to converge and at the same time describe and develop a case for the key importance of vision and at the same time also aid in the in effective development of the profession. I believe it is mandatory to have an intersection in relation to instructional practice, academic content and student learning considering the fact that it acts like an anchor when it comes to a teacher's professional development. The second factor is assessing knowledge and delivering it matching the wavelength of the students. It is this aspect that aids in developing camaraderie amidst the teacher and the student by teaching students the way they would be able to learn it better (Joyce & Showers, 1996, pp. 12-18).
