Introduction

Families and communities are vital in order to ensure that students perform well in schools as well as in extra curricular activities. The question of how these three aspects of students, families and communities can be made to communicate with one another has been asked several times over the past few decades especially, with the quality of education and its respect in students rapidly declining. Analysts have been compelled o examine the relationships between these three aspects, and have been ensuring a partnership between each, in order for the students to reach their potentials. Family involvement in schools is often not as supported as it should be, especially seeing as how the rhetoric is so much in its favor.

Most educators feel that they are somewhat limited in their ability to bring in more support from the parents side for students, hence the problem arises. During teacher training programs, administration and various other duties, the topics of school representation, family as well as community partnerships are severely under-represented. In her book, School, Family and Community Partnerships, world renowned author Joyce Epstein provides succinct reflections on how the past ten years have fared in the face of study as well as related advancements. In this paper, I will be critically analyzing the first three chapters of the book, with respect to the use of new technology and studies, and how effective the book has been in ensuring parents and communities become one with the schools in terms of the well-being of their children.

With such innovation in the field of study, there is now an extended deliberation of regional leadership in schools as a whole, not just on its study programs. Epstein is able to explain through her research that teachers and administrations at schools may now be more prepared when they have been armed with a strong base of education on how to establish and maintain partnerships. The author has done this through presenting various theoretical perspectives as well as well as solid outcomes that ensure that every bit of information that may achieve a positive outcome can be shared with parents and communities. The responsibility for the upbringing of school going children is now just on parents, but teachers as well. The development of children as fine, educated citizens is a need that must be fulfilled in order for society to prosper, and this may only be achieved if parents and teachers learn to accept their role as partners in this field. There can be several joint activities that link home and school for children, that can act as a promotion towards student's success as well as ensuring that problems may be detected and prevented, lest a student's record is smeared.

The author is able to provide succinct material for the current educators as well as those who are in the process of becoming teachers and upholding their responsibilities, that lets them truly think of their actions and training, and how it may be ...
