Learning for Pre-School Children and their Families
Answer # 1- Strategies to Promote Learning in Children
In order to promote learning and development in the children, the parents must opt for certain strategies that would promote this. Therefore, they must participate in the pre-school activities of the children to encourage them. Learning is rebuilt restructuring, which is described in a conscious and systematic network of representations and meanings, understanding and action. Every individual has been built over his personal history regarding their interactions in everyday settings through a long process of socialization singular. The barriers between the professional and personal level are blurred in practical life of teachers, because their decisions are not based either alone or primarily on their explicit knowledge professional but very decisive in their ways of thinking, feeling and acting in their platform of beliefs and habits, most of them implicit, unconscious, which constitute its unusual identity. Therefore, the children should be treated in a different manner and parents must provide them with a comfortable zone (Noddings 2011, pp. 100).
Moreover, the parents must be encouraged to enable the children to be themselves. Besides this, children should be provided with the chance to display their leadership skills and to develop their character. For this reason, it is ensured that the children feel comfortable and safe with the other children who are educated along with them at home. Communication between parents, teachers, students and administration is also fostered and teamwork is encouraged through collaboration with regards to work. Moreover, the vision should be to celebrate success of the children as well as the staff to encourage growth and sense of achievement. In order to involve the community, the people can also volunteer to work which enables the center to get support. In house trainings should be provided by the educational program center and options of academic assistance should be available for parents who are unable to finance the education of their children. Partnerships should also be maintained with the teachers to ensure education growth of the students.
Parents must focus on the skills of the children and they should be encouraged to do what they like because this will encourage them. Children must also be involved in various activities that would enable them to learn new things. However, for this, it is also important to consult the parents and to talk to them to discuss the ideas and strategies that can be implemented to boost leaning and development among the children. Furthermore, the interests of the children must also be supported because this is the area in which they may perform better than doing something they dislike. Implementation of all these strategies will foster learning as well as development in the children and will enable them to attain success in the long run (Macintyre & Gardner 1991, pp. 1).
