Economic inequality is the situation in any particular economy where household or individual income or assets are distributed unequally among the participants of the economy. It is also known as income inequality. There are numerous causes of economic inequality which includes education, gender, social status, and region. The term does not belong to inequality of income among a specific group of people within a specific society; it is a broad term which also includes inequality of wealth among countries. This paper highlights the key elements of economic inequality and also its impact on the economy of the country.
