E-coli and pasteurization

There is a famous bacteria called E- Coli which is a food borne pathogen that was first founded in 1982 when the hemorrhagic colitis spread among many people due to contaminated hamburgers. After that, the contaminant has been identified in various food sources that include ground beef, sausages, orange juice, lettuce, spinach, or even water. These particular dangerous bacteria can cause many fatal complications especially among the young children, elderly individuals and those people who have got a weak immune system. (Evans, pp.30-42)

The cases of this disease can go worse in the patients if not treated properly. The complications that normally occur in this disease are abdominal pain, severe cramp, diarrhea, vomiting, fever, Bowel problem, Hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) and kidney failure. Therefore, there are lots of concerns these days in the restaurant industry because some of the people normally avoid eating outside to the fear of getting up caught in any stomach disease. There is an assumption that the restaurant food can cause stomach problems due to the hygiene factor. Some people feel that in many restaurants, care is not taken about the hygiene factor and there are lots of risks in eating their food. This public perception is there since many years and it seems that the change in this perception is not likely in the coming years. (Terracio, pp.403-408)

This particular factor has worried restaurant industry and this is the reason why they are trying their best to give maximum efforts for the improvement in the hygiene standards of the food.
