ECG

[Name of the Institute]

Introduction

Heart's electrical activity is detected by ECG. As the heart is a muscular organ, it beats in rhythm for pumping blood to all body parts. Sino atrial node is a node that sends signals in order to contract the muscle fibers. This node is the heart's natural pace-maker. In the analysis of electrocardiogram, electrical impulses produced when heart beats are measured and displayed on paper. This is called as ECG, and records if there is any issue regarding the rhythm of heart, and heart beat conduction by the heart that may get affected because of any heart disease. The healthy heart is essential for every human being, hence adequate medical attention has to be attained.

Discussion

Various heart problems are diagnosed by the electrocardiogram including:

Unequal chemicals of heart that are electrolytes which control the action of the heart.

Disturbed conducting system of the heart.

Cardiac arrest in the emergency room or ICU checking.

Inflammation of the heart known as myocarditis or pericarditis.

Improper heart place.

Poor supply of blood to the heart.

Heart damage like when arteries of the heart get blocked known as coronary occlusion.

Irregular rhythm known as arrhythmia - slow, fast or abnormal heart beats.

Heart enlargement.

Congenital heart problems such as the electrical system.

The tool known as electrocardiograph has been used to record the fluctuations in heart's electrical activity in those individuals who are required to have heart disease. It is not for detecting heart disease in many people. ECG has been the main tool in order to create a diagnosis of myocardial infarction or ischemia. Irregularities in T waves and in ST segment shows the myocardial ischemia and usually infarction as well, and it might get followed by Q wave's formation. Although, ECG could be non-specific and standard in those patients who have infarction or ischemia, ECG is considered as the simple examination of heart function. It is usually the original analysis that has been carried out when you come to any cardiologists or any hospital's emergency department. Three lead electrocardiograms are used regularly, observing ninety-nine percentages of patients that were admitted in the emergency ward and creates one of the elements of primary set of OBs which is observed regularly by the nursing staff (Truwit, 2009, pp 12).

Electrocardiogram is regular standard test and is helpful in arrhythmias, checking ST depression or elevation and particular heart abnormalities. It should be noted that the electrocardiogram is not always hundred percent perfect in its effects specifically the instant twelve lead, and this is always used in conjunction with the other tests of cardiac while diagnosing or when there is the condition which requires weekly, monthly or yearly checking (Nelson, Poppas, Krauss, Spencer, Balasia & Lang, 1996 pp.128).

The Myocardial Infarction Triage and Intervention study have revealed the importance of electrocardiogram for the diagnosis of infarction and ischemia. This study revised the data on three thousand and twenty-seven patients: abnormalities in electrocardiogram were myocardial ischemia's original signals and could be recognized by a pre-hospital electrocardiogram in around ninety minutes of sign ...
