The diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders (DMS) has been revised in July 2000. It is a publication by the American institute that has given the details of mental disorders. There have been some editions issued in the market. DMS-IV-TR is the most current and revised version of DMS-IV. The categories of different mental disorders, their symptoms and treatment, statistics in terms of gender, age at onset, and prediction as well as some research concerning the most advantageous treatment advances have been elaborated in details. The diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental disorders (DMS) was a publication that was released by American Psychiatric Association. It has given the common language and standard criteria for the categorization of mental disorders found in both children and adults. (www.allpsych.com)

DSM-IV-TR: The Current Manual

There have been descriptive changes in the publication. The errors that have been encountered in DMS-IV are corrected in DMS-TR-IV. It has also updated some of the diagnostic codes according to the levels of International Classification of Diseases, Ninth Edition, and Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM) coding system adopted by the U.S. government.
