Abstract

In this study we try to explore the concept of Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect and its relation with The Bullwhip Effect. The research also analyzes many aspects of Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect and tries to gauge its effect on The Bullwhip Effect. Finally the research describes various factors which are responsible for Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect and tries to describe the overall effect of Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect on The Bullwhip Effect. The tendency of orders to increase in variability as one moves up a supply chain is commonly known as the 'bullwhip effect.' We study this phenomenon from a behavioral perspective in the context of a simple, serial, supply chain subject to information lags and stochastic demand. However, we observe that inventory information helps somewhat to alleviate the bullwhip effect by helping upstream chain members better anticipate and prepare for fluctuations in inventory needs downstream. These experimental results support the theoretically suggested notion that upstream chain members stand to gain the most from information sharing initiatives.

Introduction

Purpose

In this study we try to explore the concept of Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect in a holistic context. The main focus of the research is on Dynamic Supply Chain and The Bullwhip Effect and its relation with The Bullwhip Effect.

Problem Statement

BP currently uses the Make-To-Order model to supply the distributors and they are supposed to collect the goods at the plant. BP is thinking about changing the model to Make-To-Stock so they have to have an additional warehouse. They are considering all the costs and planning to launch a trial after comparison. This is one of the key issues in my dissertation and I have to focus on it and come up with the result. All necessary documents will be forwarded later on. The other major department is AIME, stands for Aviation, Industries, Marine and Energy. There are only two brands in this area: BP and Castrol. There are 8 ports in UAE and one port in Oman. There are 5 countries involved with this department in the region. The current model is Make- To- Stock through a 3rd party logistics. The other major department is BP group which are involved in some part of purchasing process from BP Belgium.
