How Heroin Addiction Affects Me, the Society and the People Surrounding Me

I was continually using drugs with the kind of reckless determination that I did, the limit to how much heroin or crack I can digest is not defined by a pound amounts but by the amounts my body can withstand without experiencing a seizure or respiratory failure. I could not think of anything else rather than getting heroin, to take all my pain away.

Since that day, when I first tried heroin, I was unable to stop. I started sniffing heroin, but only a week has slipped so far that was the prick. Within one month, I had become ingrained drug addict and lost all his money. I sold everything of value that belonged to me, and everything that belonged to my mother to buy heroin. Heroin seized me. I am constantly looking for heroin. I lived on the street. I laid, stole, cheated. Heroin I would not let go. I knew that this life could not last long, and I knew that before his death at hand. In any case, death would be better than life in the debris.

As soon as I wake up every morning I got to figure out how can I get a bag of heroin in to my vein. When I fail so, I feel terribly sick. Diarrhea all day, horrible cramps in my lower stomach, nausea, my mouth getting very dry, painful headache, sweating. I can't walk. I can't stand. My second issue is to get the “hot shot” dose, so after five minute of shot half-gram of pure heroin bag which is equal to “hot shot”, I feel like my heart stops (Drummond 2001, pp. 33).

Drugs do not only affect the life of me but it also affects other people, communities associated with me. So, an individual uses drugs for his own pleasure or be influenced to do so, there are serious consequences associated with this. Not only I irreversibly damage my health, but I put at risk all around me. In addition, our environment is suffering serious neglect of drug producers, which produce to meet demand. We must continue to support initiatives that help raise awareness of the effects of drugs and effectively help to eliminate drug addicts in their lives.

Dependence on heroin is one of the worst forms of addiction of my life. It not only undermines my health, but also takes vitality, in many cases of life itself. Heroin users can be identified simply in appearance. In addition to injuries, like bruises, traces of injections at the hands of people who suffer from addiction to heroin have the following characteristics:

Constricted pupils of the eyes

Hygiene neglect

Running nose

Streaming eyes

Lethargic

Asaphia

Eyes looking off into the distance

Pale and clammy skin
