Thesis Statement

It is important to resolve the issue of drug legalization because drug prohibition can be successful cause of much social and personal damage that is being caused by the use of drugs. Drug legalization can make these drugs so valuable while giving criminals monopoly over their supply.

In attribution to huge profits from this monopoly, many gangwars and killing of law enforcers and children took place. They get beyong our control after unregulatory trade among each other.

Introduction

Modern generation is mostly affected by the use of drugs. Drug legalization is an important practice to resolve the harmful use of drugs. Many efforts are being made towards the legalization of drugs. Drug legalization reduces neither use nor abuse as determined from the history.

Drugs are safer for adult use and less accessible to the children in a regulated and controlled environment. The term gang, drugs has its origin in the United States in the early twentieth century, starting from 1910 onwards. The issue of growing drug consumption and trade in the national security of the Central American countries is a problem of longstanding and growing concern, because they have been emerging new generation throughout the country. Their source of drugs that America receives is from Mexico, From Europe as well as from Asian counties such as Afghanistan.

First drug history of America can be tacked to the 1850s when the Chinese, brought in opium as they began settling to the United States for work purposes which basically include the mines where they were gold. It is from here that Opium began to spread gradually. Very soon Americans of every age group started using opium, as they were getting crave for it.

The main problem that American is facing currently is the high incidence of drugs followed by drug trafficking, and this is further giving rise to other crimes which includes the proliferation of violent youth gangs, legitimating capital and domestic violence. Within United States these gangs vary from all age groups. Hence in order to combat drug use and trade America has been conducting wars on drugs since the early twentieth century.

Discussion

Drug legalization is an important consideration these days as it is a growing concern among the modern generation. This can be more clearly understood from the fact that arrest of a rapist will lead to fewer cases of rape. Where as there is no significant change in supply and demand of drugs after the drug dealer is arrested.

Today, the President-elect of Mexico, Enrique Pena Nieto stated that the successful legalization in Washington and Colorado “will force the Mexican government to rethink its efforts at trying to halt marijuana smuggling across the Southwest border” (Ryan, 2012).
