Introduction

The Drug Enforcement Authority (DEA) has been established by President Nixon in 1972. The provisions of Controlled Substances Act (CSA) related to illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals are implemented by the Drug Enforcement Authority (DEA). The necessity of operations involves more than ten thousand employees. All of them are actively engaged in reducing the availability of illicit drugs, pharmaceuticals and chemicals in America.

The DEA works as administrative agency created under the law of US. The actions of the agency are discussed here. The personnel are comprised of diverse force of Intelligence Analysts, Investigators, Special Agents and other honorable members. The job is time consuming, full of danger and involves facing of ruthless and shocking behaviors. The diversion control program of DEA is a great example of the expansion of the influences. The work under CSA is conducted by various internal processes and external influences.

Delegation

In the decade of 80's, efforts have been strengthened by heavily spending on drug abuse control by the government of US. Apart from increased budget limit, powers have been delegated to the DEA through legislature to modify the DEA into more well - informed and well equipped police. The powers have been delegated to the Drug Enforcement Authority as an agency to conduct operations in collaboration with local and internal agencies. The past few decades have marked the accomplishments of the agency and the authorized enforcers in drug trafficking and reporting the related issues on national as well as international levels. The DEA has been a delegated authority to decide substances from five established Schedules of CSA to add or remove substances from it.
