Driving and alcohol consumption are two commonly observed activities among youth. These both are the personal matters but they become taboo when they are done by the same person at the same time. "Drink or drive, choose" is, in United States, the advertising slogan that captures the most authority with the "symbolic order" as (Gusfield, 2009) has strived for the analysis in classic book published for the first time in United States in 1981. Sociologist wonderfully manic irony, the art of asking questions in reverse, seeing the strange in the most trivial, as if the world as we know it was an assumption among many.
In his study, (Gusfield 2009) masterfully deconstructs the arguments "scientific" (that is to say for himself rhetorical) that allowed the 1920s to the National Security Council, a private organization that collects information on accidents of all kinds United States, to seize the "problem" of drinking and driving. This council has focused its attention on the performance of individual drivers rather than on those cars or on road conditions and emergency services. One way to empower the driver who obviously also comforted the interests of car manufacturers, as the show was Ralph Nader in the 1960s. In fact, all published data on road accidents quickly mention driver sex, age, blood alcohol, but not the age of the vehicle or its state of repair, proximity of a position rescue, etc.
I believe drunk driving is one of the most awful social evils in today's society because of how serious it may turn out. Drinking and driving is the number one cause of death of young people in U.S. Because of this evil, the adolescent group is the single age group whose figure of casualties is rising instead of lessening. Absolute denying youngsters of alcohol don't work, which just make young people desire alcohol yet more. What is heartbreaking about the drinking under the influence cases are that every one of them could have been with no trouble prevented? Subsequently, if you cannot deny adolescences of alcohol, why not immediately educate and instruct them on straightforward safety measures that may be taken to stop drinking and driving (Ross, 1994).
Drinking and driving is certainly a social issue all over the world because it takes place at any point time at any place. There have been about 11,025 casualties alone in this year in the United States (U.S). That is an outrageous figure, and in fact 40% of casualties for people within the age group of 15 to 20 are from road accidents according to the CDC. If it does not resonance like an issue to everybody then there is something erroneous because a situation like that never exist. Apparently there are regulations to stop people from lawfully consuming, possessing, and driving under influence of alcoholic things, other than this reality shows, people drinking and driving still does take place. In accordance with SADD, pupil against Drunk Driving, nearly 3/4 of high school students consumed alcohol illegally and against the proven facts ...
