Domestic Violence

Introduction

Domestic violence is now recognized as a risk factor in child protection matters. Given this position, it ought to be axiomatic that mothers who experience domestic violence should not fear the removal of their children from their care if they seek help from child protection agencies. The primary concern raised by study was that child protection officials often misunderstand the dynamics of domestic violence and that this has negative consequences for both mothers and children. Many workers interviewed suggested that the misunderstanding of domestic violence often leads child protection officials to hold nonviolent mothers responsible for ending the violence. Many study participants claimed that child protection officials may present an ultimatum to women in situations of domestic violence: that they leave and keep the children or stay and lose them. There is a valid reason why television violence has an effect on teenagers. Increasingly modern day teenagers are becoming increasing violent (Bureau of Justice Statistics, 2005). Many people believe T.V to be a culprit in the ever-forming young minds of teenagers. TV has been clinically proven to put people into a state of trance, otherwise known as a hypnotic sate. We can begin to see now why television violence has a dangerous effect on teenagers. In fact television violence is known to de-sensitize the human heart and mind. How do we know that this is true and not just common hearsay? The alarming effects are seen around the world, often leaving many people both astounded and shocked. It is unfortunate that in the precious world we have left, that such acts are being preformed. The reason however can be observed as to what is effecting the mass eruption of anger. Although the accuracy of these perceptions might be challenged, they still have ramifications for the kind of advice the study participants give to their clients and their own willingness to report to or engage with child protection services. This article concludes that to properly protect children, it is critical that child protection workers have a clear understanding of the dynamics of and issues related to domestic violence (Arriaga, 2004).

Thesis Statement

Children who watch violent television more than 4 hours exhibits more aggressive behavior.

Hypothesis

Ho: Children, who watch violent television, more than four hours a day, do not exhibit more aggressive behavior than children who watch less than two hours a day.

H1: Children who watch violent television more than four hours a day, exhibit more aggressive behavior than children who watch less than two hours a day.

The Study

The purpose of the study is to find out that how violent television affects the children behavior. The article also argues that mothers experiencing domestic violence, and the workers who support them, must be able to trust and engage with child protection authorities if children are to be kept safe.
