Introduction

The people from history played an important role in development of the world. They warriors and the emperors in the past played their role in the development and advancements of their civilizations and Empires. In this paper the focus will be laid over two Emperors which include Mansa Musa and Genghis Khan. Both of them are the well known in the books of histories for their leadership qualities and the developments they brought. Both of these rulers promoted trade in their regions and conquered a lot of area and promoted their culture and traditions in them.

Mansa Musa

Mansa Musa was a Muslim and the inspiration he received was the order and command given by the God of Muslims Allah to spread the teachings of Islam and preach the people regarding the basic preaching's of Islam that was given by Allah. Musa was well known in Africa and the Middle East. Musa spent most of the time spreading the message of Allah among the people of his Empire (doc.7). Mansa Musa was famous for his wealth among the Central Asia and South Africa for his wealth and generosity. Mansa Musa was best known for his show of wealth during his pilgrimage and trip to Mecca which is currently situated in Saudi Arabia. The history shows a limited knowledge regarding Mansa Musa, however many historians regard term Mansa as King or Lord. They think that Musa inherited the title of Mansa from his ancestors (Levtzion, 1963).

During his rule Mansa Musa brought much advancement in his Kingdom for which is famously known today. During his rule Timbuktu became the center of trade, culture and Islam. Trade was started in this region and merchants from different African countries were attracted for trade in this region. University was also founded in this city. Mansa Musa was preacher of Islam, hence he spread the message of Islam in University and markets and soon Timbuktu became the important area for Islamic scholarships. The news of the trade being carried out in Timbuktu was spread in European countries and they added they added this city in their route for the trade of gold and goods (doc.8). Another achievement of the Musa was that he enlarged the Kingdom of Mali into empire. The kingdom was than named as Empire of Mali that included most of the African countries.
