Video Games and Television Violence

Several researches prove that aggressive video games and television programs results in the increase in aggression, and thus creates violence. Irwin and Gross conducted a study in which they analyzed the behaviors of school boys who play aggressive video games and found more aggression in their behavior as compared to those who do not play these games (Irwin & Gross, p.337). The study founded out that video games that contain violence promotes it in young boys. Their verbal and physical behavior changes in schools and groups. Video games try to portray the originality in scenes. For instance, if a person gets shot, it does not disappear immediately, instead; the flow of blood and the fall of character are demonstrated. Players do not discourage these acts of violence; instead, it makes the nature of the players more violent and aggressive.

Television and media are also equal contributors for promoting violence. Moviemakers knowingly make movies with violent content because they think that this would provide a chance to their shows to do well. It happens; people like to see the violent content in movies and make use of these contents in real life. Media shows different acts of violence and people adopt these in order to threaten others in real life. Media owners and movie makers have to realize the adverse effects that these shows of violence create.
