Abstract

This paper demonstrates that genetic makeup of the human brain that has an effect on cognitive behaviors. There is no single gene that has an effect on a particular segment of the brain; the issue has diverse aspects with interconnected links between various emotions inside the human mind. The success has been limited in findings by different researchers of the brain, however they continue to gain importance as their understanding can lead to treatment of diseases and medicinal breakthroughs that would make the lives of many better.

Introduction

The genetic influences on cognitive behaviors have long been thought as non-specific as they are based on two ideas. Firstly, there is less evidence of individuals who have chromosomal or genetic abnormalities. Secondly, there is less number of genes to allow determination of connection between the neurons that gives rise to human cognitive processes. Therefore, the determination of the right genes that influence the mind and in turns the behaviors are close to being found. This paper demonstrates whether distinct genes affect cognitive behaviors. The cognitive approach in psychology is a relatively approach to human behavior that focuses on the ways we think and our beliefs. Further, these effects on behaviors which take into account biological factors, genetics and chemical imbalances. There are some genetic disorders that are associated with cognitive phenotypes which strengthen the idea that genetic mutation can directly influence cognition.

Discussion

The neuropsychological investigation of individuals with genetic disorders gives a proper understanding of how they affect the behaviors. It is seen that the molecular makeup of the genetic defects can result in looking at cognitive processes that go in one's mind. The question that does human behavior affect genetic component has controversial answers. This has legal and ethical issues involved and use controlled studies of human behavior are difficult to comprehend. However, in spite of this limitation there has been links found in the genetic component that affect human behaviors. All kinds of behavior are due to genes and the environment around the individual. The differences in the behavior can be attributed to any one of them. There are some single genes that have major influences on the behaviors. One gene is made from a single protein or part of a protein. The expression of a single gene differs from the prototype for that gene because of the changes in the gene which are inherent. This will either have an effect on all cells in the body and they can effect in performance or behaviors.

The analysis which was done on mutations with the mice has been successfully demonstrated to understand the molecular basis of memory and learning. In contrast, human mutations can be helpful in explaining the functioning of the genes. One limitation is also that there is less communication between the individuals that are involved in cloning and genetic basis of complex traits in humans.
