Introduction

Multiculturalism is a polygenic term that is subject to differing and sometimes conflicting interpretations. In purely descriptive sense, one can clearly designate the coexistence of different cultures within the same territorial, political entity. One can also prescriptive or normative sense, and designate discrete policies for voluntary action (Lott, 2010). The term arose initially in the Anglo American world as a model of public policy, and as a philosophy or social thought to react to cultural uniformity in times of globalization.
