ABSTRACT

The paper deals with the concept of diversity and its evolving importance with the passage of time in the human society. The paper encompasses of the concept of diversity that pertains to amalgamation of people from different cultures and ethnic backgrounds, as well as, the importance of diversity in the law enforcement, since diversity is an escalating trend it has to be inculcated in law enforcement. The paper further explains the importance of diversity in recruitment that explains how the evolution of diversity is altering the platform of recruitment.

Diversity

The term diversity is defined as “the amalgamation of people belonging to different cultural and ethnic identities in one region, along with their respective cultural and moral values”. The term has literal meaning of variety encompassing of a large range of things or people around. It is founded on the basis of acceptance, openness and freedom, whereas, t is held by respect and value towards each other. In the globalized world of today, economic mobilization has made the mobilization of people very easy and mandatory, and therefore, diversity leads to living of several people belonging to entirely different background together (Shah, 2005).

Diversity is one of the most important facets of the changing global demographics, and therefore, it is more fundamental to the development of the regions. In all cases, every country that believes in developing with the world around has to have a room for diversity that leads to the inculcation of diversity in all walks of life.

Law is one of the most dominant forces that align the society to a smoothly-functioning mechanism. It is defined as “the set of rules that is aimed at governing a particular system in a country that pertains to the regulations of the actions of the citizens, whereas, describe and impose penalties in case of deviance”. Law is a very important paradigm in the world of today, that is, it ensures how societies operate and carry their everyday mechanism (Levin et al, 2010).

Diversity in law

The paper focuses upon the diversity in law, since a greater number of people are mobilizing from one region to another due to several reasons. As a result, each group that has a different ethnic and cultural background deserves to have a different code of law, since the prohibited practices in some cultures are mandatory practices in another culture. The diversity in law, is therefore, a compulsory and obligatory facet that has to be inculcated in law making and legislature all across the globe.
