Introduction

Due to increased globalization and the advancement in all the fields of the world, the nation, population and workforce of the United States are moving towards diversity and amplified rates of the share of people in the mainstream functions of the nation. The diversity at workplaces has increasingly been witnessing the influx of various people regarding color, creed, ethnicity and religious or sexual orientations. Considering the population in general, and the workforces of the United States in specific, diverse populations are increasingly being seen entering into the market such as transgender individuals, gays and women; making great many contributions to the economy, industrial positions and the placement of the organizations or firms in market.

With the influx of a hoard of people in the workforce around the organizational culture of United States, the workplaces are increasingly accepting the people from all over the globe with all the various different backgrounds. The current status of the workforces of the United States is that it combines and merges the workforces from all facets of life; thus gathering the experiences and the learning that enhances the overall production and results of the organization. The diverse workforce is always the one which combines the breed of people to create more innovative, creative and productive team.

With the time and lapse of a period of time, organizations and their reign holders have learned and accepted that with the induction of people from such various backgrounds, the diversity has become an enhanced constituent and ingredient of an economy that is strong and built to survive in the downturns and upheavals of the economy (Kerby & Burns, 2012).

Diversity has evolved as of the main ingredients and constituents of the long term achievement and accomplishments of the companies. Contemporarily, the current statuses of diversity in the companies are higher than the past, when the conditions were not conducive for the workplace diversity. The rates and statists of the workforce of America have seen a huge transition over the past 50 years. The whites and the natives of American population used to be the only reign holders of the organizations and companies, thus reflecting only the Native American population as the mainstream workforce of the companies. At present the American population is an enhanced reflection of the diverse and creative population it hires and takes work from. The various factors having a say in developing the diverse workforce play a crucial role in the making of a competent workforce.

Diversity Defined

Generally a broad term incorporating the acknowledgment, acceptance, understanding and valuing the differences and diversification among the people; diversity is all about respecting the preferences of the people, their choices, physical or mental state, race, orientations, affiliations, gender or ethnicity. Being inherently related to the main constituent of the organizations and their functions, diversity has attained a strong hold in the organizational contexts, researches, studies and analysis of the situations and instances of the organizational success and triumph.
