Introduction

Bal Harbour is a dream village in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was founded by Robert c. Graham in 1929. According to the census of 2011 it has a population of about 2521. Total area of Bal Harbour is 0.6 square miles out of which 0.34 square miles is land. Bal Harbour is a small village with low criminal statistics, elite place to live and is home to most profitable shopping site in the world. Bal Harbour is a sunny place with average highest temperature of 87o F and lowest average temperature of 62.8o F.

Due to its high economic value and environmental conditions Bal Harbour needs to use solar power renewable energy system. Solar energy is a type of renewable energy that derives the electrical energy from the light and heat of the sun. It is the cheapest of all the renewable energies. It has been in use since ancient times. Proper usage of solar energy can reduce the use of ending fossil fuels that are the main cause of pollution and global warming. Solar energy is divided into two types, active solar energy and passive solar energy. Passive solar energy is comprised of solar architecture and solar lighting while active solar energy consists of solar panels and solar thermal controllers.

Use of solar energy in Bal Harbour has clear benefits on other source of energies. First it is environment friendly; secondly it is economical in the long term, both by reducing energy consumption price and by increasing the property resale price. If a single solar cell came under darkness, it will result in the breakage of the circuit which not only resists the current production but also waste the power already produced.
