The social, political and economic issues prevail in all parts of the world, and are especially prominent in the underdeveloped and developing countries of the world, including South Africa. It is rightly said that the circumstances and the situations prevailing in the South African countries can serve as a case study to highlight the issues of other African countries, and the following paragraphs focus on the major social, political and the economic strengths and weakness of South Africa that might assist in getting an understanding of the overall issues of the area:
Political
Although the political system of South Africa underwent major changes in the past few years and the political system has gained significant stability and constancy in the past few years, there are a number of issues that still pose hurdles in the way of political development of the area. Social
The positive side of eh social system of Africa is that it has high literacy rate as well as large population, thus providing significant human force to the country. However, the country has been isolated from the rest of the world for a number of years, and thus has failed to progress and proceed in the social as well as technological fronts (Macmillam, 2001). The poor law and order situation also serve as a negative force, hindering the social development of South Africa.
Economic
The economic model of South Africa is mainly based on the export of crops, and thus any decline in the prices of crops in the international market provides serious shock to the economy of Africa. The major economic strength of So8th Africa, on the other hand, is the increase in telecommunication infrastructure and the increase in E-Business, which is expected to prove fruitful in the coming days.
