Introduction

United States is a multi-cultural society and owing to this fact, certain practices of discrimination can be observed at many fields. Same is the case with health care. Many patients may face incidences of discrimination or prejudice in the hospitals they visit. This, ABC hospital, may also go through a situation in which it may carry out a discrimination act. This report will help the hospital to avoid any discriminatory action against disables, women from different religions or disable people.

Problem

The available evidence indicates that factors such as seniority social and economic status, ethnicity, age, gender, disability and silent influence of immigration on the level of a person's health and ability to access health care (Sorkin, 2010). Older people from ethnic minorities and the women and children with disabilities are examples of groups vulnerable particularly likely to be victims of inequality in access to health care, in other words, may be faced with a multiple or intersectional discrimination.

Background

In 1948, it was stated by World Health Organization that the one of the fundamental ad basic rights of human beings is to ensure attainment of the highest possible standards of health. This implies that all the human beings in the world are posses the right of getting access to proper health facilities. At the same time, WHO defined health as the complete and composed physical, social as well as mental well being, instead of linking the same time the simple and mere absence of disease. It is eminent to mention here that on one hand, the absence of there should be absence of disease and on the other hand, proper health conditions should also be present to fulfill the criterions for health.
