Introduction

This assignment focuses on the DiSC assessment of my Team members, and analyses the precise differences which exist in their emotions, attitudes, personalities, and values. It also presents a plan, which may increase their motivation, satisfaction, and performance, if they were employees in my mentors department.

Overview of mentors department

My mentor Mr. James Frank, is the Director of IS Department, at Heartland Blood Center. He manages the IT Department and has a team of 5 dedicated employees, which include One Asst Director, 2 programmers, 1 hardware person, 1 network assistant and 1 project coordinator. He is responsible for the overall planning, organizing, and execution of all IT functions at the location. This includes directing all IT operations to meet customer requirements, as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.

Differences in attitudes, emotions, personalities, and values among my Learning Team members

My learning team has five members, including me. First I would describe the emotions, attitudes, personalities, and values obtained from DiSC assessment. I have a predominant Steadiness style, with Harmonizer sub style. I am more open and less indirect, which shows that I am more people oriented while prefer to work at a slow pace. My primary motivation is the approval and acceptance, which I gain from others around me. I am people oriented person and have the tendency to hear the issues experienced by others. I do not prefer to advice them for actions to bring changes in the current situation. I prefer working at a slow pace being highly involved in work while working in teams, and avoiding interpersonal conflicts. My personality can help me resolve problems, and help others in decision making (UOP.BlanchardAssessments.com).

Carla predominantly has a Dominance style, with Producer sub style. She is less guarded and less direct, which shows that she works at a moderate pace to achieve goals. Her primary motivation is to accomplish goals, which are bigger and better as compared to inner timetable. She prefers to choose the activities to be performed by her rather than to be told by others, and then to be involved in performing the chosen activities, from the beginning till the end. She does not like people who hinder her performance. She is more focused under pressure, and seeks feedback before planning further tasks. Her high energy makes her impatient, and so she is irritated by inefficiencies. Chelse predominantly has a Dominance style, with Pioneer sub style. She has a more guarded and less direct approach, which shows that she is tasks oriented but is slow in her approach to achieve the tasks. Her primary motivation is holding a position, which allows her to direct and redirect task accomplishments. She is future oriented and responds to change quickly.
