Response to the Natural Disaster

Natural and man-made disasters are increasing with the passage of time. Owing to such increase, international community and NGOs have to be prepared for relief work. Tohoku earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in 2011 is said to be one of the most catastrophic natural disaster. As soon as the tsunami along with the earthquake hit Japan, international community came into movement and started relief work for the country (IRC, 2013). About 116 countries and 28 international organizations offered assistance and relief to the country, according to the Japan's foreign ministry.
