2006 Atlas Creek pipeline explosion

The explosion of a pipeline in 2006 Atlas Creek is a disaster that occurred May 12, 2006 on the island of Atlas Creek (sometimes called isanka Island), near Lagos, Nigeria, where a gas line had been pressure ruptured by thieves exploded, killing 150 people. The Nigerian Red Cross said the vandals had originally drilled holes in the hose to steal fuel, (Alexander 12) and the local population had fallen below with drums to fill with fuel.
