Diabetes

Summary

Diabetes mellitus, often simply mentioned to as diabetes is an assembly of metabolic infections in which an individual has high blood sugar, either because the body does not make enough insulin, or because units do not reply to the insulin that is produced. (Morris, pp.298-310)

In a healthy individual, the blood glucose level is regulated by some hormones, encompassing insulin. Insulin is made by the pancreas, a small organ between the stomach and liver. The pancreas secretes other significant enzymes that help to digest food. (Morris, pp.298-310)
