Introduction

This paper discusses the ways in which groups deal with deviance in a holistic context. It attempts to explain as to why groups feel it is necessary to deal with deviance. The paper also highlights the factors that determine the degree of tolerance exhibited by group members and as to why at certain times groups do tolerate deviance.
