Background of the Project

Cyberlink Internet cafe is a small Organization providing web access and online gaming services to its customers. Over the past six months as customer base has grown rapidly, they have been experiencing problems manually managing tasks such as billing, end-of-day accounting and keeping track of time used by customer and has decided it's time to automate this tasks in order to save time, improve efficiency and maintain a competitive edge.

Objectives

Cyberlink Internet Cafe envisions a billing application that can support basic generation of time tickets to customers, remote management of computers, hardware and applications directly from the Server, time tracking use of Games consoles and maintaining a log of transaction for accounting purposes. The main aim of this project is to develop an application for the Cybelink café, which can control the operations of the internet café. The proposed software has the features that can be used for administrating the Cyberlink café, where regular internet users are present. The main features of this software are:

Different administrators have different passwords, and each user is provided the ID and password by the administrator

The administrator can perform the task of rate setting for the system. The setting of time can generate messages for the users restitution of login and time period

It can provide a complete billing system depending upon the requirements of user

The most desirable feature of this automation software is that it can provide yearly, monthly and daily reports of the earnings for the Cyberlink café.

This project report defines how the software can work by making use relational database diagram, data flow diagram and UML diagram. After the completion of the software, it was undergo several testing mechanisms including defect testing by giving particular inputs and monitoring the predictable output. As module wise approach had been used for developing this software, so bottom up and top down testing was also being done for the software.

Scope of the Project

The main aim of this project is to replace the manual work and paper work done in the Cyberlink café, and to automate the current trend in the Cyberlink café. Anything related to the creation of user, generation of bill or management of user, all these things can be automated with the help of this project. As the job of the administration is being done without any effort, and at the same time all the customers can enjoy their complete browsing time, therefore both the owner and user can be at their ease. This project can limit the client and server into a single system. For real time applications, software can be extended by installing the components of server into a main system, and can have several clients by installing the components of clients into various systems. With the help of this project, several clients can interact with the main server, as well as send the various requests at the same time. At present, cyber crime has immensely increased.
