Abstract

This paper will highlight the contrast in the biosocial, cognitive and psychosocial development of ADHD and non ADHD adolescents and adults. Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is behavior or self regulatory disorder, first considered occurring only in children. However, later researches defied the notion and found that ADHD causes severe impairments in young people or adults in different aspects of life, notably education, occupational functioning and management issues. The core symptom of the disorder, that is, inattention and impulsivity get so serious by adulthood that they could not drive by themselves as they are so easy to distract. Otherwise, they happen to break the laws or get caught in accidents, which is purely unplanned or unintentional. On the other hand, hyperactivity seems to get lessen with time. However, when provided with accommodation at educational settings, they performed better. Hence, the complications faced by ADHD individuals could be resolved by introducing appropriate measures, which are within the reach of every ADHD patient.

However, this paper would be highlighting the differences that might occur in the development of ADHD affected adolescents and adults.

Teaching and learning play an integral role, and they start to think hypothetically in contrast to younger children, and tend to indulge in egocentrism. It is a state where they think that are the centre of world's attention. The intuitional thinking is also present, sometimes overcoming logic. The significant event of adolescence is the search for identity. It serves as the base for personal identity, combining the religious, cultural, and social values along with own aspirations. Family and peers, on the other hand, plays ...
