Introduction

Australia in the past 10 years is encroaching towards leading international educational market. The educational system of this country is based on the British model, inherited by Australians as the colonial legacy, and provides a good knowledge for a very competitive price. The level of education of the population in Australia is on third. Australia is a member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). More than 30% of the adult population has a college degree. For a country in which he lives only 20 million people, the education system in Australia is very developed (Anthony, 2003). It has about 40 universities and more than 300 public colleges. Education on the "green continent" has a lot of advantages: English as the official language, a high standard of living, all the year round to enjoy the delights of a warm climate. All educational institutions - both public and private - are under the control of the Ministry of Education, to meet strict government standards and ensure a high quality of training. Finally, Australia - a country with an open immigration policy (since 1945 here for permanent residence resettled more than 6 million people from around the world.) Many come to the school to stay and work later. Australia annually hosts more than 160 thousand students from abroad. Basically, it's from Asia (China, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Vietnam, etc.), but the Scandinavians, British, Brazilians prefer Australia to other countries.

The idea of Australian Curriculum establishment was approved by state and territory in 2008. Curriculum is the set of interacting forces of the total environment offered to students by the school and the experiences they gain in that environment. The management of Australian curriculum was responsibility of Australian curriculum and reporting authority (ACARA). Science subjects were majorly involved in the development of K-12 curriculum. There are wide variety models of Australian curriculum. They are total 11 curriculum models in Australia. These models are established with the help of government since government has supported these models and provided various resources to establish these effective curriculum models. UK has more and much better curriculum models as compared to Australia (Britzman, 2000). The government of Australia has established national curriculum whose aim is to bring uniformity in various models of Australian curriculum. Various challenged were faced by Australian government while establishing curriculum models. Australian curriculum has dined structure, ideas and identified scope. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the development and structure of Australian curriculum, we shall also evaluate the way in which needs of learners are met by Australian government in 21st century.
