This paper will identify the strengths and heaknesses of a person with working in learning team A. The paper will show some conflict management techniques used that most effective in his learning team. Effective group decision-making skills and problem-solving techniques used by the team. He cannot avoid conflict in his life, at home, at work, and even at play. Wherever people interact, there is a potential for conflict. That is not bad news because good things can arise, and relationships can improve through conflict, provided conflict is managed with thought and attention. The bad news is that most of us are fairly limited in how he manage and resolve conflict situations, often throwing gasoline on the fire. It does not have to be that way (Conflict 911, 2008).
Discussion
There are much strength and a few heaknesses in learning team. Overall, as a team he are working towards one common goal. That goal is to graduate from college. The University of Phoenix has taken communication up several notches. He are required to deal with other in his class by working on team papers. It requires strong dedication, a trust factor, and dependability. Each team member must do his or her part to contribute to the team paper; otherwise someone else picks up the slack. This situation causes to say the least, irritation, distrust among the team, and lack of accountability.
His personal strengths to his learning team are cut and dry: his ability to be persistent, his dedication to the team to succeed, and his ability to do the hands on approach. While some might find his ability to be persistent annoying, it defines his success as hell as his team's success. Meaning, I am constantly watching for his teammates completing their portion of the assignment and if he don't see it happening I will be contacting his teammate to find out what is going on. Do they need any help? Are they sick? Are they stuck? What is going on?Personal dedication to the team is another one of his contributions that I feel is a strength. I am in constant contact with each member of the team. I then make sure that he are all basically on the same page work wise. If there are questions or comments that need to be resolved, then I don't hesitate to send a team e-mail stating this is what his problem or conflict is and ask the question ?What can he do to resolve this issue. He will also offer solutions to the team. With his background being an Operations Manager in a manufacturing plant, he was able to see the big picture and know how to solve conflict and working problems. Hohever, the very strength of teams as hell as their blending of different backgrounds and skills also makes them problematic.
Effective conflict resolution is quite simple?but it's hard to do because it goes against human nature, which pushes us into fight-or-flight ...
