Introduction
Jamaica is officially known as the “Common Wealth of Jamaica”, it is situated in the Caribbean Sea. In a brief historical overview, it was inhabited by an Amerindian group, Arawaks (Tainos) until it is visited by Christopher Columbus in 1494. The Arawaks named this island as “Xaymaca”, which means “Land of wood and water”. Columbus claimed this island for Spain and then it was named as “Santo Jago de la Vega”. After Spaniards, Jamaica was under the British colonization and then after long time of slavery, finally emerged as an independent state. History of Jamaica is filled with the passion and fight for freedom, this helped them maintaining and preserving their culture and heritage.

White Sandy Beaches
It is the most characteristic feature that attracts tourists from all over the world. The beach sand is all clean and white with beautiful crystalline blue water. In sunlight the white sand sparkles like diamonds and the blue color of ocean appear like turquoise crystals. There are also fishing villages and waterfalls. Its Treasure Beach is also something that tourists cannot avoid.
Blue Mountains
This is 45km long mountain range which is the oldest feature of Jamaica. Its 2256m heights above sea level offers invites tourists for hiking and the sun rise or sunset view is breathtaking. Another interesting feature of Blue Mountain is the world's best coffee at Mavis Bank. Mavis Bank is a little village in the middle of coffee country where you can visit “Mavis Bank Coffee Factory” here you can taste world's best quality of coffee. There is also a farm house and guest's houses available.
Black River
It is another interesting feature of Jamaica; it is a town which is located at the western bank of Black River. Here crocodile are the major attraction for the tourists; its nineteenth century architecture is also remarkable.
Atmosphere
The climate and atmosphere of Jamaica is ideal for the tourists. The peaceful environment, explicit country sights and perfect costal temperatures invites tourists to explore this wonderful island. Rainy season is from May to December but generally, short and heavy rain showers throughout the year, is the character that adds to the beauty of this island.
Delicious Food
Most important thing about Jamaica is the fresh seafood varieties. It is not just that fresh seafood but Jamaica is also famous for its spicy and aromatic cousins. There is always wide supply of fresh fruits and vegetables.
