The process strategy that is applied at Wal-Mart, is very different, Wal-Mart is a premier grocery store and one of the largest store in United States of America, they have continuously struggled hard and improved their process of product design, for designing consumer product Wall mart not only consider manufacturing cost but also focuses on product delivery that helps them in meeting the expectation of customers. On the other hand wall mart have their own brand name, that gives them greater value, this brand value helps them in staying competitive, while not while not knocking out the brand names as Wal-Mart sells those products also. Efficient product designing have helped Wall- Mart to sustain their competitive advantage, as with the help of effective product designing and development they stay ahead in delivering products in new manner, their products makes difference with the help of their packaging and design (Burgelman, 2000).

Wall Mart has to measure the attributes; they need to consider various design plans for their products, as cost is a very important factor and plays a significant role in product design, consumer market changes very fast, no product design can be kept same for a longer period, because in fast moving consumer market, consumer product design changes with respect to preference of consumer, these kind of decision needs to be taken promptly as they assist in delivering higher value to customer (Burgelman, 2000).

Wall mart product development issue is very challenging as their existence in chain stores, is generated by managing wide variety of products, however they continuously struggle for delivering higher level of customer satisfaction, consumer looks for new items, and this is the only thing, which provoke wall mart to look for new items. It is critical for the success of any product development agenda, however, ideal marketing mix needs to be approached by an organization that helps in optimizing product development, this thing will assist them in sustaining product development issues and advantage (Dunkley, 2004).

Logistics Management

Wal-Mart has fast and responsive transportation system. It has over 3,500 trucks to service its distribution centers by shipping. To make its distribution process more efficient, Wal- Mart have adopted a technique that focused on cross docking in which finished goods directly taken from suppliers, that has sort out plant supplied to customers. It has reduced the storage and handling of finished goods by eliminating distribution stores and centers (Dunkley, 2004).

Product Life Cycles

Wal-Mart manage their personal stocks, it reduces size of packets over many different categories of product, however timely price marksdow unproductive inventory. It also networked its suppliers through computers (Dunkley 2004).
