Introduction

Depression and bipolar disorder are two types of illnesses which are associated with osteoporosis, multiple sclerosis, cardiovascular diseases, diabetes and cancer patients. It is a risky mental illness which can lead to damaged relationships, risky behavior and suicidal tendencies if precautions haven't been taken at initial stage.

Bipolar disorder also known as “manic depression” because of several mood swings and feelings of elation and despair there are four different episodes of depression: Bipolar I, Bipolar II, Rapid Cycling and Cyclothymiacs. A mood swing of depression usually runs from time to time and bipolar usually runs in family. The episodes of bipolar and depression may physically harm the brain systems activities which has the control over the mood swings and there isn't any cure for it. It can only be controlled by medication or in medical terminology it is called “maintenance treatment”. While some patients can be treated effectively with available drugs, but many do not respond, especially in the depression related to bipolar disorder (Royal College of Psychiatrists' Public Education Editorial Board, 2012).

Bipolar Disorder basically depends over the mood swings of the victim. One of the feeling is the depression which the worst situation where the sufferer's life becomes miserable and impossible to deal with normal things of life for a longer period of time. The most common depressions are: Emotional, Thinking, Physical and Behavior (Royal College of Psychiatrists' Public Education Editorial Board, 2012).

If the level of episode of depression reaches its intensity then there can be certain psychotic symptoms of depressive episode and manic episode where experiences of hallucinations can also be conceived. In severe depression, person might think of killing or harming themselves, start neglecting themselves or become suspicious and hostile.
