The U.S. intelligence cycle is the process in which the raw data is collected and then refined in order to provide the policymakers with the polished intelligence. This information is very useful for the agencies, in order to operate efficiently and smartly. The U.S intelligence cycle is involved in the identification of the information needs, which are necessary to protect the nation. The information is then analyzed and directed to the relevant departments in the refined form (Dissemination). In the U.S intelligence cycle the steps can be reviewed backward if necessary (Gardner, 2005).

Purpose of the U.S. intelligence cycle

The U.S intelligence cycle is concerned with the collection of raw data and then converts it into the final refined form which became useful for the end departments. This system not only provides relevant and quality information to the intelligence department but also safeguard the nation by looking deep into the security concerns. The intelligence is the key to the national security and to maintain the law and order situation viable in the country.
