Deity of Christ is a subject that has been under discussion for many years. Although the deity of Christ is evident through the two testaments of Bible but the little research has been done to prove the divinity in the context of these scriptures. In this paper we will discuss the attestation of the deity of Christ according to the two testaments. The focus remains on the Scriptures of the New Testament. Introduction
Christianity is a divine religion founded over the teachings of Jesus Christ. Being the largest religion of the world, it is also called the Abrahamic religion. The conventional philosophy of this religion is that Jesus Christ existed even before he was sent to the world as a human being. The Deity of Jesus has been a subject of great concern among the many Christian circles, with two opinions based on the Bible claims and their authenticity. Many members of different Christian sects argue on the deity of Jesus which can only be answered in light of the biblical scriptures to be used as a proof. In this paper we aim to discuss the divinity of Christ in light of the old and new testaments, in support with the affirmation of the four apostles and Jesus' direct and in direct claims of being god in the Old Testament.
The Bible says that Jesus Christ is among the 3 different existences which are all eternal and godly. The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are equivalent which existed in all times. The deity of Jesus has always been the fundamental issue for the Christian followers. It was also observed after the first century till now that Jesus Christ was at the same time human and God both.
