CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
In today's world, the students of college are way too different from the older generations. These students have a greater connectivity with the knowledge that is available electronically. Most of the students have grown up with the new technologies; and therefore, these technologies possess a strong place in their lives and are a part of their norms. The new technological media sued by these students are internet and cell phones. Most of the new technology availed and used by these college level students is for communication purposes. These students are now more connected by the technological mediums. The dependency of the students on these technologically innovative mediums is increasing with the passage of time. Mobile phones, emails and the increase in the usage of internet have made the students will to stay at home and not to go to college. Emails, mobiles phones and internet are forms of direct and rapid communication. The internet and the World Wide Web provide various tools for communication and options for gaming and other numerous resources. Due to the use of internet not just the attendance in the colleges has been impacted by also the scholarly researches have been impacted. These are just generalizations that are being made regarding the use of internet by college students.
Purpose of the Study
The main purpose of the study is to find reasoning for students why they prefer to stay home rather than going away to the college.
Problem Statement
This study will determine why students choose to stay home versus going away for college. Technological and social networks (OSN) are becoming an increasingly important component in the lives of today's students. Thus, student affairs professionals need to develop a clear understanding of how to contribute to the NSO or detrimental to the educational experience with online social networks is to determine its impact on the experience of students.
