Abstract

This study is intended to determine the role of decision-making process in evaluating the best career option. For this purpose, we have incorporated the decision-making evaluation matrix using the five different criteria that are interest, scope, applicability, risk and monetary benefits. The findings of the study indicate that the matrix hold a great importance in getting a best possible outcome which is the adoption of the career of the Business Administration as it got the highest weight age among all the options. It has also been found through the study this decision-making process which is the use of evaluation matrix can be very helpful in evaluating any type of decision process which a person feels difficult through analyzing verbally. This matrix has a great deal of importance in providing best possible outcome which greatly assist a person in making a right decision.

Introduction

Career can be defined as the profession that a person undertakes for the well being and the continuous progress throughout his life. Career is a profession that is adopted to earn the better living. The adoption of right career holds the critical importance as the entire professional life depends on the first move which a person undertakes at the initial stage. The success of your entire professional life totally depends on the better planning of the career. The proper planning holds a significant value and helps to opt for the right decision. With the increase in the competition and the dynamic environment, career planning has become an integral element before taking the final decision because the degree does not only provide the high profile job but the proper and appropriate planning leads the person towards the continuous ladder of success. The decision making process has got the remarkable value in helping people to better understand what they really want by exploring the options and then select what is best option for them. Thoughtful and considerate decision making serves as the gateway to get a satisfied career preference.

Purpose of the study

The primary objective of this study is to evaluate the significance of decision making process in selecting and pursuing a suitable career. The other purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of decision making evaluation matrix in reaching the right result and how this matrix contributes in getting the best possible outcome among all the identified alternatives. This study contributes greatly in the evaluation of any of the decision.

Discussion
