The Whittington Hospital

Introduction

It is established by Whittington Health Organization in 2011. They provide hospital and welfare services to the people. It also includes some community services for people. They are providing both community and hospital services, so they are known as “integrated Care organization”. They are providing high quality services to both their community people and patients. They are also providing extra care to those patients who need that. They have partnered with GPs, patients, health care providers and social care providers. Due to their efficient services, they are regarded as a hospital with lowest rates of death in England. They are also providing necessary measures for the safety of patients. They are also providing quality education to medical students. They also provide very good educational benefits to deserving students for post graduate or further studies (Whittington.com, 2013. Pp.n.d).

The Whittington Hospital also raises funds and charity for the children and patients for providing them with the best services. These funds are used for the treatment of patients and for improving health environment of the hospital. They are also raising charity of cancer, thallassaemia and heart patients so they can manage their treatment expenses (Whittington Health, 2013. Pp.n.d).

My Role

I am working with the Whittington hospital in the Fund Raising department as a fund raising officer. My job description is to raise funds for different events. It also includes organizing, planning and effectively managing the events for fund raising and charity of The Whittington hospital. I have been working in this hospital from the last six months. Hospital is providing many good services to its patients. For instance, if in a month hospital has short of funds and there are too many patients who need financial assistance, then my job is to find out ways through which I can raise more and more funds for the hospital.

There are many problems faced by me and my subordinates while collecting funds for the Hospital. We faced a lot of problems in this regard, some major problems include

The officers are unable to raise the target amount for funds due to lack of resources.

The officers are unable to finance the programs of fund raising.

They are not getting enough funds for the hospital services and treatment.

Problem

The UK hospitals are investing their best efforts for raising more and more funds for the people but the main problem is that there are many patients who need charity funds but there are very few people, who are donating money for the hospitals. The Whittington Hospital is also facing the problem of short funds for the hospital. The major problem which I have to solve as a fundraising officer is to raise funds for the hospital purposes and I can do this by developing effective strategies for the fundraising activities.
